2. History of formation

Nai Hien Dong Ward was established under Decree No. 07/ND-CP dated January 23, 1997 of the People's Committee of Da Nang City. Nai Hien Dong is one of 7 wards in Son Tra district, a coastal border ward located to the northwest of the city. It borders on Tho Quang ward to the north, An Hai Bac ward to the south, Man Thai ward to the east, Han river to the west, with an area of 4.2 km2. The whole ward currently has 8,339 households, 33356 people, is divided into 19 residential areas, 103 residential groups. In the area, there is 01 headquarters of the ward's Party-People's Committee, 01 Song Han border guard station; 01 Christian church, 02 pagodas, 01 market, 59 business establishments with security conditions, 91 houses for rent. Current religious numbers include Buddhism, Christianity, Protestantism, Cao Dai, B’Hai. There are 54 apartment blocks. Most of the people in the ward are marine workers and unskilled workers.
